I started keeping a journal in 6th grade and at some point started writing online, mostly for friends and family. Writing has always been just something I needed to do, regardless of whatever else was going on in life. Over the years I have taken a wide range of writing classes at Grub Street in addition to workshops with other organizations and writers in proprioceptive writing and personal essays. Meanwhile, I spent over 20 years working for a variety of economic and community development organizations delivering technical assistance and training as well as writing grants, business plans, annual reports, and marketing materials. Aside from being a Mom, my other interests include knitting, quilting, photography, learning to play guitar, and adventuring around Maine with my family.
